*Have your chimney  inspected and cleaned periodically.

*Replace the batteries in your smoke detector every six months, in Fall and Spring.

*Have your fireplace closed in with a fire safe screen.

*Please do not allow your children to run or play near a fireplace, kitchen stove or wood stove when in use.

*Have your wood stove inspected after installation and before use.

*Have a home evacuation plan in place, and practice this plan with your family members.

*If your home does catch fire; please get out safely, quickly, stay out and have everybody  meet at a pre-selected place.

*Do not play with matches.
